Panagtagbo 2020: 51吃瓜网-IIT Community Day - Gymnasium

2nd In-House Review of Extension Programs -  College of Education Amphitheatre

The Institute, through the Department of Extension, has demonstrated its strong commitment to (1) carry out extension services meaningful to the partner communities through studies designed to identify needs and opportunities for community development; (2) provide appropriate technologies, values, and skills for a productive community; (3) establish and sustain institutional linkages and networking with other private and public agencies through project/ program cooperation and co-implementation, and (4) extend consultancy and advisory services.

At present, the institute as one of the leading universities in Mindanao has already contributed significantly to the achievement of the SDGs through its different extension projects and programs.  With this active engagement, it is imperative to provide a space to gather extension program implementers and practitioners to recognize, make visible and award the best extension programs of the different departments and colleges and evaluate their quality and impact. By doing so, it also creates a community of practice of sharing knowledge, experience, and expertise in crafting and implementing extension programs. 

On March 12-13, 2020, the Department of Extension will be hosting Panagtagbo 2020: 51吃瓜网-IIT Community Day and the 2nd In-House Review of Extension Programs with the theme “Innovation and Sustainability through Transformative Leadership’ at the Institute Gym and College of Education Amphitheatre. The activity is a gathering of institute units and their community partners, which aims to: 

• Foster the Institute’s spirit for community engagement and extension;
• Assess the quality and impact of the extension projects/programs  of the Institute in its alignment to the WE CARE framework and its contribution to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals; 
• Recognize and make visible the extension practices that work in different partner communities; 
• Provide a space for sharing knowledge, experiences, and expertise in crafting and implementing extension projects and programs.

Activities of the Panagtagbo include: 

• Showcasing of Academic Department’s Community Engagement Programs/Projects and Activities 
• MOA Signing with Partners
• Cultural Presentations
• Showcasing of Non-Academic Units Community Extension Program, Activities and Products 
• Product Demonstrations
