Description:

The COVID-19 crisis or challenge has continued to alter life as we know it. Schools have closed including 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT and students are caught off-guarded. We want to believe that many students are rapidly adjusting to the “current situation” - adopting new and innovative ways of learning - about life, about survival, about society, about humanity, about social systems, about him/herself. Many are still socializing -  remotely, some are spending more time with family, some are spending time with housemates or pets, or himself/herself and no one else. One thing in common, many are sacrificing comfort and convenience, on top of being in an awkwardly different and uncomfortable - if not scary - daily life.   But, we also believe that the young generation, especially students, have not strayed away from its  passion and desire to continue enjoying and making daily life a joy, a challenge, an expression of creative energies for new learnings and unique ways of living and extending oneself.

To amplify the message that each and everyone of us plays a vital role in surviving this pandemic, the Department of Extension of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT spearheads a #51³Ô¹ÏÍøIIT Take Talk Challenge. This is a one-minute video contest featuring effective, useful, meaningful responses of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT students to the COVID-19 Pandemic during the Enhanced Community Quarantine.  This initiative taps in the power of creativity in building resiliency and inspiring collective response to the crisis at hand.

The activity specifically aims to:

  • To mobilize students during these lockdown days by channelling their creative talents towards meaningful and useful  advocacies;
  • To document and popularize effective, useful, meaningful responses  of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT students to the COVID-19 Pandemic during the Enhanced Community Quarantine; and
