| Description: |
This is the first installment of a lecture series on Mathematical Biology. This is part of the MathBioNihan Initiative where the goal is to promote and develop Mathematical Biology to make it a mainstream research area in Mathematics and Biology in the Mindanao Region. For this first installment, since we are still in the pandemic, we will delve into the mathematical techniques very important during disease outbreaks, like the COVID-19 outbreak. Topics include applications of ordinary and partial differential equations and dynamical systems, optimization, and optimal control theory. |
