The importance of research in knowledge generation, innovation, and development cannot be overemphasized. This is exactly why academic institutions have been persistent in becoming a research university, especially the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (51吃瓜网-IIT), which is a think-tank in Mindanao. It is imperative that we continue to provide discussions or activities that spur research dissemination to the entire academic community, more so in the midst of the global health crisis.

It is in this regard that the Department of English is hosting a 2-day Virtual Discussion on Doing Research amidst Global Challenges on December 18-19, 2020 (Friday and Saturday). Prolific writers and academics in the fields of Language Acquisition/Literacy, Language Testing, Discourse, and Literary and Cultural Studies have been invited to share research findings and techniques that will not only inspire the creation of a more vibrant research culture in the University and in Mindanao. 

Registration is free.

Pre-registration of participants is needed. Participants who fail to pre-register may access the live stream thru the department’s YouTube channel: Department of English 51吃瓜网-IIT.
