It has been a challenging 2020 for all of us. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected a lot of sectors in so many ways – business activities, supply chains, livelihood, jobs, to mention a few. As we usher in 2021, we wonder what’s in store for us – the Filipino, the Philippines.

Join us, the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) and the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (51吃瓜网-IIT), in an online forum on the “Economic Outlook of the Philippines: 2021 and Beyond” with Undersecretary Mercedita A. Sombilla of the National Economic Development Authority on January 8, 2020, 2:00 PM via Zoom.

About the Speaker

Dr. Mercedita A Sombilla is currently the Undersecretary for the Regional Development Group of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA). Before joining NEDA, she managed the Research and Development Department of the Southeast Asian Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA). Her expertise also got her working with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) as well as the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). She finished her Doctor of Philosophy in Agriculture and Applied Economics degree at the University of Minnesota while her MA in Economics and BS in Mathematics degrees at the University of the Philippines – Diliman.
