In joining the nation in the 2021 National Quincentennial Commemoration of the first circumnavigation of the world, the introduction of Christianity, and the Battle of Mactan, the Department of History will hold a webinar on April 29, Thursday at 8:00 am via Zoom. The talks in the webinar will outline the NQC theme, Victory and Humanity, from the perspective of the colonial history of Iligan.

This webinar gathers distinguished history practitioners to mainstream the colonial history of Iligan. In doing so, the speakers which includes Dr. Cecilia B. Tangian, Asst. Prof. Rey Luis A. Montesclaros, Asst. Prof Marjorie Joy A. Magdadaro, Asst. Prof. Jamelyn B. Palattao and Asst. Prof Jay Rome O. delos Santos will discuss Spanish efforts in neutralizing Moro resistance and sustaining their administrative control of Iligan and Northern Mindanao.
