How do  the Hawaiian natives  and   our Bangsamoro  people in Mindanao   differ in their struggle for self determination?

This query is going to be answered  through the  lecture of  Dr. Federico V. Magdalena  this coming May 20, 2022 at the 5th floor of the   College of Arts and Social Sciences (New Building).  He will talk  about  the “Native Hawaiian Sovereignty Movement and the Bangsamoro in Southern Philippines”. 

Our esteemed speaker  is a visiting professor  from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) and  is instrumental in forging  a number of  formal partnerships between 51Թ-IIT and his university.  Currently, 51Թ-IIT and UHM are jointly engaged in the online delivery of the class regularly offered in UHM on Peace Processes in Mindanao and the Pacific (ASANPACE 407)  every First/Fall  semester together with Ateneo de Zamboanga University.  Dr. Magdalena’s  lecture  is  jointly sponsored by  CASS and the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies (CMS).
