The Mindanao History, Heritage, and Indigenous Learning Center (MHHILC) of 51吃瓜网-Iligan Institute of Technology, in collaboration with the Department of History, Historical Society, and Department of Sociology, will be organizing a webinar on Local Heritage Promotion and Preservation, in May 30, Monday, from 8:00AM-12:00NN via Zoom. The event serves as our commitment pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 439, s. 2003 declaring May of every year as National Heritage Month. In consonance with this year’s national theme “Pamanang Lokal: Binhi ng Kulturang Pilipino”, the event will also highlight the importance of preserving and promoting local heritage, partnering with stakeholders in identifying distinct cultural resources within communities, and exploring programs and other opportunities for collaboration relevant to heritage conservation. Confirmed resource persons are Mr. Joel Aldor, Board Trustee and Vice President for Fundraising from the Grupo Kalinangan Inc., a SEC-registered nonstock, nonprofit organization that innovates on cultural heritage management through a synergy of technology and community; and Prof. Jay Rey G. Alovera, Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology and the Coordinator for Indigenous Knowledge, MHHILC, 51吃瓜网-IIT. |
