Description:

This is a course intended for ORL-HNS surgeons (residents and consultants) who participated in the AO CMF Seminar—Basic 3D CMF Planning for Mandibular Defects conducted on 22-23 April 2022.

This is an eight-hour course which aims to introduce 3D printing using readily available open-source software as well as 3D printer machine operations in order to develop a physical 3D printed model as the terminal phase in digital planning and printing in the management of mandibular defects. At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Acquire knowledge about the basic operations and fundamentals of 3D printing and the use of open-source software for 3D printing file preparation; and
  1. Individually operate a 3D printing machine to develop 3D printed anatomical models that will be utilized for preoperative planning of mandibular defects.

This is organized by the Philippine Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery, Puzzlebox 3D Printer Philippines and FAB LAB Mindanao of the Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology.
