Description:

With reference to this year’s national themes on MGM and NIPM, both activities bear the shared title “PagtIPig” (Pagtipig), a Hiligaynon word for “preserving, keeping, and to guard well”.

Exhibit of Indigenous Culture and Artifacts

This week-long exhibit serves as our dual celebration of the Museum and Galleries Month (Presidential Proclamation No. 798, s. 1991) and the National Indigenous Peoples (IPs) Month (Presidential Proclamation No. 1906, s. 2009); which will feature the ethnohistory and modern history of Mindanao as gleaned from, but not limited to, the artifacts, indigenous attires/traditional wears, handicrafts, instruments, and arts.

Conversations Promoting and Protecting the Rights of Indigenous Communities in Mindanao

The activity serves as our commitment pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1906, s. 2009, declaring October of every year as National Indigenous Peoples (IPs) Month. The forum hopes to primarily discuss the roles and contributions of the indigenous cultural communities in Mindanao. Most importantly, conversations on IP history, culture and heritage, issues, challenges and interventions, will be emphasized to recognize the need for promotion, preservation, and protection of their welfare and rights

Cost:

The Exhibit will be open and of free entry for all 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT constituents.

The Forum is free of registration and will be conducted in hybrid mode (via Zoom). However, on-site slots are limited, and attendees are pre-determined/pre-identified by the organizers. On the other hand, due to the limited capacity in Zoom, the general audience are encouraged to pre-register. Only the first 300 registrants will be admitted to the Zoom room and the rest may watch the livestream via Facebook.
