Scholarships

The UniFAST Free Higher Education Act, officially known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (RA 10931), is a Philippine law that provides free tuition and other school fees in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and state-run technical-vocational institutions.

Recipients: All current undergraduate students may avail of the benefit for a maximum of five (5) years, except those pursuing a second undergraduate degree.

In addition to the Free Higher Education Act, various scholarships are also available through government and private funding agencies.


Internal Scholarships

  1. Academic Scholarships
    1. Unified Scholarship

      Students who attained a GPA of 1.75 or higher in the previous semester are eligible for the unified scholarship for the current semester and shall be classified as follows:

      Per BOR Resolution 322 s. 2022, the above scholars shall be receiving a monthly subsidy according to the following proportion: 1:2:3 for Dean's, Chancellor's and Rizal's awards, respectively.

      In no case shall the monthly stipend exceed ₱2,000.00, ₱1,300.00, and ₱500.00 for the Rizal, Chancellor, and Dean's scholarships, respectively, as originally stipulated in BOR Resolution No. 393, s. 2013.

      Finally, the grant of incentives and scholarships under this BOR Resolution shall be subject to the availability of funds and compliance with applicable accounting rules and procedures.

    2. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-SASE Top 20

      The actual score of a student ranked in the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-SASE Top 20 shall determine the type of award they receive, with the corresponding stipend provided in accordance with BOR Resolution No. 393, s. 2013, and BOR Resolution No. 322, s. 2022:

      The award is implemented for one semester only. Once the student enters the 2nd semester in the Institute, the student will be classified according to the Unified Scholarship Scheme.

  2. Financial Assistantships
    1. Student Assistantship / Office Assistantship

      This grant-in-aid is awarded to academically deserving undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need and is renewable on a semester-by-semester basis.

      Students are assigned to various offices to perform clerical, messengerial, and other related tasks. Student/office assistants are compensated at a rate of ₱35.00 per hour, up to a maximum of 100 hours per month.

    2. Special Scholarships

      In accordance with BOR Resolution No. 36, s. 2018, the following Special Scholarship Grant recipients shall receive a monthly allowance of ₱1,000.00:


External Scholarships

Privately Funded Scholarships

  1. Philippine S&T Development Foundation-Manila, Inc.

    Recipients: 2nd year to 4th year BSME, BSCHE, BSEsE, BSEE and BSCE students

    Privileges: 37,500 per semester

  2. Recipients: 3rd and 4th year students of the College of Engineering

    Privileges: Grant of P5,000 per semester.

  3. COCOFOUNDATION Scholarship Program

    Recipients: Children of small coconut farmers/tenants/workers

    Scholarship Benefits:

    • ₱10,000.00 allowance per semester
    • ₱4,000.00 allowance for a required summer class
    • ₱2,500.00 Thesis Assistance
    • Up to ₱6,000.00 Graduation Assistance

    Incentives:

    • Additional benefits for scholars who graduate with honors (applicable to four-year programs only)

      Scholastic incentives shall be awarded based on a student's Grade Point Average (GPA) for a given semester as follows:

  4. ILPI (Candelario-Consuelo Borja Educational Grant)

    Recipients: Students who are residents of Iligan City

  5. Phil. Gold Processing & Refining Corporation (PGPRC) Scholarship Program

    Recipients: BS Metallurgical Engineering

  6. Iskolar ng Landbank

    Recipients: Children or grandchildren of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and Small Farmers and Fisheries (SFFs)

    Program Incentives:

    Scholars shall receive a total annual grant of ₱100,000.00, less applicable taxes, to cover the following expenses:

    • Allowance/stipend
    • Book allowance and other course-related requirements
    • Clothing, uniforms, and shoes

    Additional Incentives:

    Scholars graduating with high honors shall receive a corresponding special cash award:

    Subsidy for Graduating Scholars

    A maximum of ₱16,000.00 shall be granted as reimbursement for licensure review and examination fees to cover the following expenses:

    • Review Center Fee (only official receipts will be accepted)
    • Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Application Fee
    • Photocopying and/or printing of review materials
  7. DBP INSPIRE (DBP Integrated Scholastic Program for Inclusive and Responsible Education)

    Recipients: Freshmen students of BSIT, BSIS, BSCS, and BSCA

    Privileges:

    • Monthly stipend of ₱4,000.00
    • Book and uniform allowance of ₱2,125.00 per semester
  8. NGCP Educate Program

    Recipients: BSEE (2nd yr to 4th yr)

    Recipients: Students of all programs except BS Nursing

    Scholarship Benefits:

    • Monthly living allowance of ₱5,000.00
    • Book, uniform, and equipment allowance of ₱10,000.00 per year
    • Internship opportunities with the MPTC Group and affiliated companies
  11. Iskolar ng Sunlife

    Recipients: Students of BS Accountancy, BS Statistics, BS Mathematics, BS Computer Science, and BS Information Technology

    Benefits:

    • Monthly living allowance of ₱5,000.00
    • Book and uniform allowance of ₱4,000.00 per semester
  12. Gokongwei Brothers Foundation — Teach STEM (College Eligibility)

    Recipients: 1st- to 3rd-year students pursuing a Bachelor's degree specializing in STEM Teacher Education with at least 2.0 GWA and no failed, dropped, or incomplete grades in the previous academic year.

    Privileges: ₱65,000.00 per year

  13. Gokongwei Brothers Foundation — Teach STEM (Master's Eligibility)

    Recipients: 1st- to 3rd-year students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in STEM Teacher Education who have a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 2.0 and no failed, dropped, or incomplete grades in the previous academic year.

    Privileges: Annual scholarship amount of ₱65,000.00

  14. BPI Foundation Pagpupugay Scholarship

    Recipients: Next of kin of medical frontliners who passed away or contracted COVID-19 in the line of duty; student must have a GWA of at least 2.0 and must not be a beneficiary of other academic assistance programs.

    Privileges: Annual scholarship amount of ₱100,000.00

  15. Du-Baladad Law Foundation Scholarship

    Recipients: 2nd-year students of Education, Environmental Engineering, Information Technology, and Engineering Technology with a GWA of at least 1.5 and who are not beneficiaries of other academic assistance programs.

    Privileges: ₱5,000.00 per semester

  2. UniFAST Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES)

    Beneficiaries: Students who are part of households included in the Listahan of DSWD, ranked according to the estimated per capita household income.

    Privileges:₱10,000.00 per semester

  3. Tulong Dunong Program - Tertiary Education Scholarship (TDP-TES)

    Beneficiaries: An applicant must be a Filipino citizen with a combined household (parents/guardian) gross income which shall not exceed ₱400,000.00, provided that the applicant is enrolled in the student’s first undergraduate degree in SUCs.

    Privileges: ₱7,500 per semester

  4. CHED MeritScholarship Program - Full / Half Scholar

    Full Scholar Beneficiaries: Senior High School graduates or graduating with GWA of at least 90% (or its equivalent) and family income not to exceed ₱400,000.00.

    Full Scholar Privileges: ₱40,000.00 per year

    Half Scholar Beneficiaries: Senior High School graduates or graduating with GWA of at least 85% (or its equivalent) and family income not to exceed ₱400,000.00.

    Half Scholar Privileges: ₱20,000.00 per year

  5. CHED Scholarship Program for Future Statisticians (ESTATISTIKOLAR) - Full / Half Scholar

    Full Scholar Beneficiaries: 3rd or 4th year BS Statistics students with GWA of at least 90% or its equivalent, family income not to exceed ₱400,000.00.

    Full Scholar Privileges: ₱40,000.00 per semester

    Half Scholar Beneficiaries: 3rd or 4th year BS Statistics students with GWA of at least 85% or its equivalent, family income not to exceed ₱400,000.00.

    Half Scholar Privileges: ₱20,000.00 per semester

  6. Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and their Families (CoScho)

    Beneficiaries: Qualified and deserving coconut farmers and their families registered in the NCFRS who are enrolled in priority courses with GWA of at least 80% or its equivalent, and whose parents have combined annual gross income not exceeding ₱400,000.00.

    Privileges: ₱40,000.00 per semester

International Scholarships

  1. The Robert Schappert U.S.A. Scholarship

    Privilege: One-time financial assistance of Php 5,000.00 for 1 year to a student in need of financial assistance

  2. Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA) Scholarship Grant

    Recipients: Freshmen BS Nursing Students
