51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT has formalized a new international pathway for its Environmental Science students through a ceremonial signing held at Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) in Bangkok, Thailand, marking a milestone partnership in environmental conservation and sustainability-focused education.
The Memorandum of Agreement on Potential Development for Students, Faculty, and Staff in Environmental Conservation was signed at the BSRU campus in Bangkok, Thailand, as part of the activities under the 2nd NSRU International Conference held on January 18, 2026.
BSRU was represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Kanakorn Sawangcharoen, President of the university, while 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT was represented by Chancellor Prof. Alizedney M. Ditucalan, J.D., LL.D., underscoring the high-level commitment of both institutions to deepen academic and sustainability cooperation.
The agreement is designed to develop the potential of students, faculty, and personnel in the areas of environmental conservation, sustainability, and academic collaboration, explicitly framed as an SDGs partnership for impact between the two universities.
Both institutions committed to jointly produce graduates and professionals with strong competencies in sustainability, environmental conservation, and related fields, aligning with global and national efforts to address climate and ecological challenges.

Under the MOA, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT will be sending BS Environmental Science students to BSRU to participate in structured student volunteering and field-based programs in environmental conservation within BSRU’s service communities in Bangkok and surrounding areas.
These students are expected to engage in conservation projects, community-based environmental initiatives, and other experiential learning activities that will complement their classroom training in 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT and enhance their regional and international exposure.
The MOA identifies three main cooperation tracks: student volunteering programs in conservation, joint research in areas such as green tourism innovation, sustainable hospitality management, and ecotourism policy, and co-development of educational resources and training manuals for conservation-based academic services.
These initiatives are positioned to advance SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), reinforcing both universities’ shared profile as sustainability-oriented universities.
A joint Working Group on Environmental Conservation Cooperation will be created by both universities to coordinate activities, plan projects, and periodically evaluate outcomes to ensure that programs are implemented efficiently and sustainably. The agreement will be in force for three years from the date of signing, with both parties committed to jointly seeking budget and resource support from their respective governments, the business sector, and international organizations to sustain and scale the partnership.
This new Memorandum of Agreement marks the fourth major engagement between 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT and BSRU, further strengthening a growing partnership in sustainability, environmental conservation, and advanced scientific collaboration.
The ceremonial signing in Bangkok builds on a series of earlier collaborations between the two universities, including a joint research showcase held in August 2025 that highlighted emerging work in science, technology, and sustainability.
51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT and BSRU have also previously co-hosted the Samahang Pisika ng Visayas at Mindanao (SPVM) conferences and the 2nd BSRU International Conference, demonstrating a sustained record of cooperation in research dissemination and academic networking.
With this new agreement on environmental conservation and student, faculty, and staff development, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT’s latest initiative at BSRU signals a shift from event-based collaborations to a more programmatic and long-term partnership.
The continuity from conferences and research showcases to a structured Memorandum of Agreement underscores both universities’ shared commitment to building an enduring, multi-faceted relationship centered on sustainability and quality education.
