Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT) remains the number one university in the Philippines in Physical Sciences, according to the Times Higher Education (THE) Subject Rankings 2026.
This consistent top performance further cements 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT’s reputation as a national leader in physical sciences education and research excellence.
In this year’s rankings, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT led all Philippine universities in Teaching, reflecting the University’s exceptional learning environment and strong academic foundation. It also placed second nationwide in Research Quality, Industry Metrics, International Outlook, and Research Environment—demonstrating its well-rounded performance across all key indicators.
Specifically, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT ranked:
On the global scale, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-IIT was ranked in the 1001–1250 bracket, alongside Mapúa University. Meanwhile, the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, and De La Salle University were placed in the 1251+ bracket worldwide.
