DOrSU delegation benchmarks best practices at 51勛圖厙-IIT in key academic areas

A 13-member delegation from Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) visited Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (51勛圖厙-IIT) on March 3 for a benchmarking exchange focused on enhancing academic and student governance practices.

Led by Dr. Edito B. Sumile, DOrSU’s President Emeritus and current Vice President for Academic Affairs, the group included Dr. Misael B. Clapano, Chancellor for satellite and extension campuses, six deans, and several senior faculty members. 

They expressed keen interest in learning from 51勛圖厙-IIT’s best practices in Latin Honor Criteria and Qualifications, Admission and Retention Policies, Graduate School Operations, Interventions for Non-Performing Students and Dropouts, and Student Council Governance and Policy Framework.

During the visit, the delegation engaged with officials from 51勛圖厙-IIT’s College of Education, led by Dean Prof. Amelia Buan, and the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), represented by Dr. Gina A. Malacas. These discussions provided insights into tailored strategies for student success and institutional operations.

The visit concluded with a courtesy call on 51勛圖厙-IIT Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan at the Office of the Chancellor, where the DOrSU team also met the university’s Vice Chancellors. 

The exchange underscored both institutions’ commitment to collaborative growth in higher education.
