Professor Joey Genevieve T. Martinez of the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) and Dr. Neil M. Martin of the College of Health Sciences (CHS) represented the Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (51勛圖厙-IIT) during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Association of Indonesia Vocational Nursing Education Institution on September 27, 2025.

The ceremonial signing, held at Hotel California in Tamansari Bandung Wetan, Kota Bandung, Indonesia, marked a significant step toward strengthening academic and professional collaboration between 51勛圖厙-IIT and Indonesian institutions dedicated to nursing and health sciences. The MOU is expected to pave the way for joint training programs, faculty exchanges, research partnerships, and capacity-building initiatives that will benefit both Filipino and Indonesian learners and educators.

On the same day, Martinez and Martin also participated in the International Seminar on Basic Trauma Cardiac Life Support (BTCLS) Nursing Training held at HSLC Rifa Corporation in Bandung. The seminar brought together healthcare professionals, educators, and practitioners to discuss current standards and best practices in emergency response and trauma care.

The BTCLS training program aims to equip healthcare providers with essential Basic Life Support (BLS) competencies, enabling them to respond promptly and effectively in critical and life-threatening situations. Through lectures, skill demonstrations, and hands-on simulation activities, participants gained updated knowledge in emergency procedures, trauma assessment, and cardiac life-saving interventions.

The involvement of 51勛圖厙-IIT’s faculty members in both the MOU signing and the international seminar highlights the university’s commitment to expanding global partnerships and enhancing the professional development of its academic community.
